ISP – Sculptural Brass Light Object – DCW Editions Paris
A luminous object beyond convention
Designed by Franco-Russian designer Ilia Potemine for DCW Editions, the ISP collection defies categorization. Neither classic lamp nor mere sculpture, ISP blends mechanical ingenuity with poetic minimalism, resulting in a striking, functional design object.
Manual light modulation through a sliding tube
The concept is as intuitive as it is elegant: a luminous LED tube slides in and out of a polished brass case. Controlled manually by a small brass rod, this gesture regulates the light’s intensity while evoking a delicate, almost ceremonial interaction.
Two versions: table lamp and wall sconce
Available as a table lamp or wall-mounted version, ISP is made from luxurious materials: polished brass and a white marble base. Each piece is engineered with the precision of fine watchmaking or scientific instrumentation.
Functional lighting meets pure sculpture
The tubular shape, reflective brass, and solid marble form a composition that feels both mechanical and sensuous. ISP is not controlled by a switch – it invites you to touch, move, and modulate light in a uniquely analog way.
A luminous jewel by Ilia Potemine
ISP stands apart from trends. It’s a light object, a gesture, a presence. Designed to captivate and illuminate, ISP is ideal for minimalist, elegant interiors where form and experience matter as much as function.
FAQ – ISP Collection – DCW Editions
Who is Ilia Potemine?
A Franco-Russian designer known for his radical, technical, and sculptural approach to design. ISP is one of his signature works.
How does the ISP lamp work?
A LED tube slides in and out of a brass shell using a manual rod. No switch or dimmer – the light intensity changes as you open or close the lamp physically.
What models are available?
Two: the table lamp and the wall-mounted version. Both are the same size (L 55.5 cm × H 12.1 cm) and share the same materials.
What materials are used?
Polished brass, white marble, and a glass diffuser. The craftsmanship is exceptional, giving it the feel of a precious object.
What kind of light does it emit?
A warm, adjustable light depending on how far the tube is extended. The light is soft, focused, and ideal for ambiance.
Where can ISP be used?
In bedrooms, offices, entrances, bookshelves – anywhere that needs an object that balances light, design, and tactile interaction.
Is it electronic or touch-sensitive?
Neither – it is fully mechanical. You interact directly with the light through movement, not through buttons or remotes.
Who is this lamp for?
Collectors, design lovers, and those who value refined craftsmanship, originality, and a sense of ritual in everyday objects.
