Our Story
Lumitop is a family-run company dedicated to high-quality French lighting. Our passion for this art began in the early 1990s, marked by the export of French luminaires to Germany after the fall of the Berlin Wall. This milestone signaled the start of our international journey.
The Legacy of Pierre Paulus
Founded by Pierre Paulus and now managed by his son Michael, our company has always been a family affair. We traveled across Germany, collaborating with specialized stores, wholesalers, and architects, supported by local representatives. Our products gained recognition at international trade fairs in Paris, Frankfurt, Hanover, and Cologne.

Luminaria and the Digital Transition
In 2004, we achieved a dream by opening “Luminaria,” a lighting store in Lingolsheim, Alsace, which thrived until 2018. Faced with the rise of digitalization, we launched our e-commerce site, Lumitop, in 2014. Following Pierre’s passing in 2018, Michael decided to focus entirely on online sales, continuing the family legacy while adapting to new trends.
A New Marketing Dynamic
In 2020, Cyrielle, Michael’s wife, joined our team, bringing her expertise in marketing and communication. She took charge of our social media and marketing efforts, revitalizing our online presence. Her integration strengthened our family dynamic and contributed to Lumitop’s evolution as a forward-thinking company in French lighting.
