What does Kelkin?

Kelvin (symbolized by a "K") is the unit of thermodynamic temperature, it represents the color of a light source. It varies between 1,800K and 16,000K. The lower the number of Kelvin, lower than 4000K, the warmer the light color. Conversely, the higher the number of Kelvin, greater than 6000K, the cooler the color. This classification is used to assess the type of color emitted by the lamp when it is on.

Watt

Watts (symbolized by a "W") indicate the amount of energy used (power consumption) by a light bulb to produce light.

Lumen / Lux :

Lumens is the unit of measurement for the luminous intensity (luminous flux) of a light bulb.

One Lux is equal to one lumen per square meter.

Each activity requires a certain amount of Lux.

- Lumens describe the amount of light emitted by a fixture or bulb

- Lux is the quantity of light received by a surface, an object or a piece of furniture.

How to choose your bulb?

If you are looking to save energy, opt for an LED bulb! This bulb is much less energy intensive than halogen bulbs, it consumes on average 10 times less energy and has a very long lifespan.

To choose your LED bulb, different criteria must be taken into account:

- The type of bulb and base:

There are many types of LED bulbs, with different bases. The type of socket is always indicated by a capital letter in front of numbers indicating the diameter of the socket. The most common bases are E27 and E14. Beyond 250watts, the diameters of the bases increase. For example, for street or commercial lighting, you will find E39 and E40 bulbs.

- The power and light intensity:

Adapt the power of the LED bulb to the location (shape, size, height of the ceiling) and to lighting needs. Just look at the number of Lumens shown.
If you are looking for a more subdued atmosphere, you will have to opt for bulbs producing a lower light intensity. And vice versa for higher brightness.

- Color temperature:

The light color of a bulb comes in three shades of white. Warm white, neutral white and cool white. This is the thermodynamic unit of temperature called kelvin, indicated by a "K" followed by a number ranging from 1000 to 16,000 Kelvin.
For a working environment such as an office, workshop, or even a hallway, entrance, it is advisable to increase the kelvins for a cooler light in a bluish tone.
Conversely, for a warmer and more cozy atmosphere, we will opt for weaker kelvins for warmer light.

- Dimmable bulb or not:

Dimmable LED bulbs stand out for their functionality. This bulb allows you to vary the intensity of your lighting using an LED dimmer according to your needs. So you can also control your energy consumption. It is designed for lamps with dimmer.

- The shape of the bulb:

There are many shapes of bulb: globe, flame, helical, tube ...
The choice of the shape of a bulb is linked to several criteria: aesthetics, technology, use.

- Les ampoules LED RGB :

This type of bulb has an infrared receiver, which allows you to change the color with a remote control. These are the basic colors R (red), G (green), B (blue).
By combining these three colors, mixing their intensity and brightness, all other colors can be created.
