Trendy and practical, pendant lamps have now become essential.
They diffuse a powerful light (direct or indirect) capable of illuminating the entire room. They enhance the space and add a decorative touch to your interior design.
However, to obtain the ideal luminous flux, it is necessary to install your pendant lights at the right height (neither too high nor too low).

In which room should you install a pendant lamp?
Pendant lamps, very popular today, are a particularly aesthetic and functional lighting solution. They offer powerful indirect or indirect lighting and with to its wide variety of models, they adapt to everyone's creative desires. A small or bulky pendant lamp can be installed in any room of the house (living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom, Hall) if the ceiling height is high enough.
The size of the pendant lamp

Over the dining table:
Its dimensions influence the position of the lamp. In fact, if the table is very large, the pendant lamp must be mounted higher so that the light beam can cover the entire surface of the table.
However, if you want to keep a low position, it is better to multiply the light sources and install two or three pendant lamps instead of one, to opt for an elongated luminaire in order to diffuse the light over the entire surface. You can also choose a fixture that combines several bulbs.
For a ceiling height of approximately 2.50 meters, we recommend a minimum distance of 80 centimeters to 100 centimeters between the table top and the bottom of the pendant lamp. It must therefore be placed at least 1.60 meters above the ground.
Above the coffee table:
The pendant lamp can be placed at a height of approximately 1.80 meters. It will specifically illuminate the coffee table creating a beautiful intimate effect. No one will run the risk of hitting it because the table prevents the passage.
In order to create an original decoration in your living room, place several identical or different-sized pendant lamps in the center of the room, at different heights in 1.90 and 2.10 meters.
Nowadays, installing pendant lamps in the kitchen is very trendy. This brings a real cachet to your room while having good lighting.
One of the first things to keep in mind when installing a pendant light at the right height is that the lower the fixture, the more the light beam is concentrated in a small area. If your work plan is wide, the pendant lamp should be placed high enough to illuminate it entirely.
The correct height for a pendant lamp in the kitchen is between 75 to 90 centimeters above the counter or the central island.
The entrance to your home should have enough light to make you feel comfortable, but also to allow you to dress and find your belongings.
The perfect height for a pendant lamp in an entrance hall is around 2 meters. This height allows the passage and diffusion of light throughout the room. Do not hesitate to add floor lamps or table lamps to optimize the lighting and decorate your space.
With its soft and localized lighting, the pendant lamp finds its place in the bedroom.
Installed in the center of the room, it must be placed at a minimum height of 1.95 meters.
However, it can also replace your bedside lamp at a height of about 1.30 meters on either side of the headboard. A popular trend these days.
- Ceiling less than 2.50 meters, it is not recommended to install this type of light either for practical reasons (difficulty moving around) or for aesthetic reasons (loss of space). It is better to opt for ceiling lights.
- Ceiling higher than 2.50 meters, make it an asset and opt for a large chandelier, it will perfectly dress your space.
- You do not have an electrical supply at this location: opt for an off-center suspension or an arc floor lamp.
Difficult to illuminate a large room with a single light. It is recommended to install spotlights on the ceiling. Pendant lamps can be used as simple decorations.
