Pierre Disderot opened his first studio in Cachan in 1948, and his first creations were imbued with the modern classicism typical of bronzesmiths at the end of the 1940s. A true pioneer in his field, he demonstrated a touch of modernism and characteristic elegance. of his time.
It was his meeting with one of the masters of modernity of the time, Marcel Gascoin and his young team from ARHEC (rational development of housing and communities) including Michel Mortier and Pierre Guariche, the initiators of the shift radical. From this collaboration with its renowned designers, emblematic creations of the 1950s were born. Its partnership with the members of the ARP (Atelier de Recherche Plastique), Pierre Guariche, Joseph-André Motte, Michel Mortier as well as Alain Richard gave rise to countless models that reinvent interior lighting.
The Soka company bought the Atelier Pierre Disderot in 1984 to become Soka Disderot, with the idea of perpetuating the work of the greatest French lighting manufacturers.
Today, faithful to the values of its founders, the current managers are relaunching certain legendary models under the Diderot brand, reissues identical to the originals down to the smallest detail.
