Initially created for illuminating staircases indoors and serving as an outdoor wall lamp for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen in 1960, two primary sizes were produced: 350 mm (13.7") and 450 mm (17.7"), with a smaller model of 200 mm designed specifically for St. Catherine’s College in England. Jacobsen always preferred the larger version for stair lighting. Today, the AJ Eklipta adapts to a wide range of architectural settings worldwide, showcasing its versatility and timeless design.

Lighting Concept

The AJ Eklipta delivers soft and comfortable illumination, achieved through its opal white glass that creates an evenly lit surface. The transparent edge of the shade, blown in three layers of opal white glass, forms a halo of light around the fixture, offering a soothing and harmonious visual effect.
