The Panthella 500 Floor V3 by Louis Poulsen carefully updates one of Verner Panton's most recognisable designs for 2026. Originally created in collaboration with Louis Poulsen in 1971, Panthella is defined by its generous domed shade and distinctive flared stand, both conceived to contribute to the lighting experience. The new V3 version remains faithful to the organic silhouette of the original while introducing technical, aesthetic and material improvements designed to refine the lamp and create greater consistency across the Panthella collection.

A 1971 design icon in its unmistakable form

With Panthella, Verner Panton wanted both the shade and the stand to play an active role in the lighting experience. The broad shade reflects light downwards, while the distinctive trumpet-shaped stand contributes to its distribution within the surrounding space.

Measuring 500 mm in diameter and 1290 mm high, the Panthella 500 Floor retains the sculptural presence of the original design. Its generous organic curves allow it to function both as atmospheric lighting and as a distinctive design object beside a sofa, in a living room or within a reading area.

Soft and glare-free illumination

The shade is made from high-gloss injection-moulded opal acrylic, helping to create a soft lighting effect while preserving the comfortable, glare-free illumination associated with Panthella.

An injection-moulded opal polycarbonate diffuser complements the optical design. The European version features an E27 lamp holder, allowing the light source to be selected according to the desired colour temperature and atmosphere.

What improvements does the V3 version introduce?

The Panthella 500 Floor V3 incorporates several subtle refinements without changing the overall expression of Verner Panton's original design. The shadow beneath the high-lustre chrome-plated top nut has been reduced, while the white colour of the shade has been aligned with the rest of the Panthella family.

The white finish of the socket housing, base and stem has also been harmonised across the collection. Mechanical strength has been improved, while the socket housing and base now offer enhanced UV resistance. A new bottom plate with silicone rubber completes the technical updates introduced with the V3 version.

The Panthella 500 Floor V3 measures 1290 mm high and 500 mm in diameter and weighs approximately 5.5 kg. The top nut retains its high-lustre chrome-plated finish.
