Lighting measured by gesture – where technology meets poetry
The Metrica table lamp, designed by Studio Habits for Martinelli Luce, redefines the interaction between user and light. At the crossroads of intelligent design and playful object, Metrica invites you to control light with a simple motion—an elegant game of extension, movement and intensity.
A tape-measure concept reinvented as light
The concept is simple yet captivating: a luminous rod extends upward from the base, like drawing out a measuring tape. As you pull, the light grows stronger. An internal sensor reads the alternating patterns on the structure and adjusts the brightness in real time. It’s intuitive, precise, and seamlessly built into the design.
Minimalist, technological, and expressive design
With a cylindrical base measuring 12 cm in diameter and a variable height from 29 to 49 cm, Metrica displays a slender, dynamic silhouette. Its polished metal body (in black or white), accented with leather details, feels both refined and tactile. Power is supplied via an external 24/230 V adapter, preserving the lamp’s clean and uninterrupted lines.
Soft, precise, and expertly controlled light
Fitted with an 8 W integrated LED, Metrica emits warm light at 3000 K, with a luminous flux of 340 lumens and excellent colour rendering (CRI > 80). Perfect for desks or small, relaxing spaces, the light is manually dimmable—smooth, discreet, and effective. With a lifespan of 50,000 hours, it is a reliable, energy-efficient solution.
An interactive lighting experience for refined interiors
Metrica is more than a table lamp—it’s an experience. A gesture, a light, a balance between technology and emotion. It appeals to contemporary design lovers, fans of soft-tech innovation, and all who see light as a living material to be shaped with care.
