A refined play of light through the folds of contemporary design
With Plissé, Emiliana Martinelli imagines a suspension lamp that combines technical precision with poetic elegance. This creation unites the sophistication of a laser-engraved diffuser with the clarity of modern design—producing a lighting effect that’s delicate, soft, and visually captivating. At the crossroads of artisanal tradition and cutting-edge technology, Plissé transforms light into a gentle, graphic material.
A sculpted diffuser that brings light to life
At the heart of this fixture is a transparent methacrylate disc engraved with fine laser-cut lines. The striped pattern, visible even when the lamp is off, comes to life once the integrated LED is turned on—unfolding a subtle dance of shadows and reflections. As light passes through the engravings, it refracts and redefines the lamp’s form—creating a tactile, immersive ambiance.
A perfect balance of visual lightness and technical performance
Measuring 45 cm in diameter and 33 cm in height, Plissé holds a discreet yet distinctive presence. Its 350 cm suspension cable offers generous installation flexibility—above a dining table, in a hallway, or as a refined accent in a workspace. Weighing just 2.1 kg, it is easy to install while ensuring stability.
Warm, steady, and silent illumination
Plissé emits 1150 lumens at 3000 K, delivering warm white light ideal for interior environments. The power supply is elegantly integrated into the ceiling canopy, ensuring a clean, seamless look. While non-dimmable in its standard version, it offers consistent brightness—perfect for a welcoming everyday glow. With a CRI above 80, it guarantees natural and pleasant colour rendering.
A crafted design for a softly muted atmosphere
With its etched lines and diffused halo, Plissé resembles a delicate fold suspended in time. It doesn’t just illuminate—it gently transforms the space, layer by layer, into a calmer, more fluid environment. A Martinelli Luce signature piece that unites visual elegance, technical mastery and an eye for detail.
