Brick² Balt® Brossier Saderne – Design wall light in bio-based material

Created in 2026, the Brick² Balt® brings Stéphane Joyeux's iconic Brick² design for Roger Pradier® into the interior. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of this emblematic model, the designer has reinterpreted its distinctive architectural form using an innovative material: Balt®. Its deliberately pared-back geometry highlights the unusual texture of the material, while the open structure allows light to spread around the fixture and create a warm, decorative effect on the wall.

What is the Balt® material used for the Brick²?

Balt® is made from cereal residues generated during the beer-brewing process. It is 100% bio-based, 100% recycled and recyclable. Its naturally textured appearance gives the Brick² Balt® a distinctive depth and reinforces the contemporary, material-focused character of the design.

The material complements the simple geometric volumes of the wall light. Eco-designed with a strong local approach to production, the Brick² Balt® is manufactured entirely between Nantes and Angers in France.

What kind of light does the Brick² Balt® provide?

The Brick² Balt® takes one E27 bulb with a maximum power of 20W. The light source is not supplied, allowing the bulb, colour temperature and lighting effect to be selected according to the desired atmosphere.

Its open construction allows light to escape around the fixture, producing decorative patterns of light on the wall. The bulb also remains visible within the centre of the design, making a decorative E27 light source an attractive option.

Is the Brick² Balt® dimmable?

Yes. The Brick² Balt® can be phase dimmed when used with a compatible dimmable E27 bulb. This makes it possible to adjust the brightness according to the desired mood, from more pronounced illumination to a softer and more intimate glow.

The wall light is fitted with a ceramic lamp holder, is Class II and has an IP20 rating for indoor use.

What colours and dimensions are available for the Brick² Balt®?

Measuring 27.2 cm high, 15 cm wide and just 9.5 cm deep, the Brick² Balt® has compact proportions that make it easy to integrate into a living room, entrance, hallway or bedroom. Used individually or repeated along a wall, it becomes both a light source and an architectural feature.

Four finishes are available: White, Blond, Terracotta and Ink. Each shade highlights the distinctive texture of Balt® in a different way, allowing the Brick² Balt® to complement a wide variety of contemporary interiors.
