Lighting is an essential element of your outdoor space and influences its character. In addition to creating a warm, safe and welcoming atmosphere, good lighting can also make the space appear larger. Installing well-placed lights improves safety.

Many criteria must be considered in order to make it aesthetically pleasing, functional and often even safe. Among the factors to consider, you must take into account the protection index (IP) of your luminaire. An important standard that provides information on the degree of protection of your luminaire against dust and water.

IP protection in the garden :

- IP 23 - For entrance doors and awnings: wall lamps, ceiling lamps or pendant lamps are the most suitable. They allow to have a beautiful main lighting to bring elegance. In this case, the luminaires must at least be IP23 to be protected against water spray.
- IP 44 -
For facades or under the roof: all luminaires that can be placed on the house or under the roof must be equipped with IP44 protection against spraying.
- IP 65 -
If you want to install ground recessed lights under an awning, it is essential to opt for luminaires with the degree of protection IP65. They are thus protected against direct water jets.
- IP 67 -
For outdoor luminaires: all luminaires that you place or mount outdoors must be IP67 protected. They are thus impervious to temporary immersion.
- IP 68 -
For prolonged immersion: devices with IP68 are suitable for prolonged immersion in water.
