Suspended Elegance: Unveiling "Gravity" by Kateryna Sokolova

Inspiring Journey of Kateryna Sokolova
Kateryna, originally from Ukraine and with a Master's degree in industrial design from Halle, Germany, wasted no time in making her mark in the design realm. Notable recognitions in European competitions, including a Design and Design International Award, brought her into the spotlight. She reinterpreted classics like Gerrit Rietveld's Zig and Zag with a fresh and inventive perspective. Her collaboration with the French company Jarre Technologies and the renowned musician Jean Michel Jarre in the development of high-tech music products not only solidified her place in the industry but also expanded her creative horizons.

A Unique Design Philosophy
For Kateryna, design is not merely a function of form or function. It is a delicate blend of three vital ingredients: simplicity, functionality, and, above all, passion. Her approach to design transcends materials and forms, offering pieces that are both utilitarian and emotionally resonant. Each of her creations is a testament to her commitment to balancing impeccable aesthetics with pragmatic utility.

"Gravity" - A Luminous Tribute to Traditional Asian Art
The "Gravity" collection perfectly illustrates this philosophy. Inspired by traditional Asian arts, from delicate weaving to robust bamboo constructions, Kateryna's Gravity 1 suspension is a sight to behold. Comprising five airy volumes of wire metal, the structure, although openwork, exhibits a balance and robustness that defy imagination. The suspension's delicate geometry plays with transparency, allowing light to dance through, creating subtle and ethereal beams of light that evoke a sense of serenity and calm.

Lighting That Becomes the Soul of Space
Light and delicate, the "Gravity" suspension appears to float weightlessly, not just as a source of light but as a centerpiece of interior decor. Its substantial volume, perfectly suited for large spaces, becomes an assured presence, where light and shadow dance in gentle harmony, making every space it inhabits a place where design meets tranquility.

Kateryna Sokolova continues to captivate the world of design with her ability to transform materials and spaces through beautifully conceptualized and meticulously crafted light. "Gravity" is not just a collection of light fixtures; it is an exploration of space, light, and form that encourages contemplation and evokes unexpected serenity in contemporary spaces.
