Complete Guide for Businesses within the European Union
Companies established in another European Union member state and holding a valid EU VAT number may, under applicable European regulations, benefit from VAT-exempt (net) invoicing when the legal requirements are met.
This guide explains, step by step, how to place your order so that your VAT number is correctly taken into account.
- Important: This guide is intended exclusively for businesses established within the European Union that have a valid EU VAT number. Businesses located in France remain subject to French VAT.
Step 1 – Log in to your Professional Account

Once you are logged into your Lumitop Professional Account, your professional discount is automatically applied to all eligible products displayed on the website.
Simply add the lighting products you wish to purchase to your shopping cart.
Step 2 – Open Your Shopping Cart

Click on the Shopping Cart icon to review your order.
You can modify quantities or remove products before continuing.
Then click Checkout.
Step 3 – Enter Your EU VAT Number

In the Address section, click on:
- I am a business (Enter VAT Number)
Two additional fields will appear:
- Company Name
- VAT Number
Enter your EU VAT number so that our system can verify its validity and apply the appropriate tax treatment to your order.

A VAT number uniquely identifies your business within the European Union.
When your VAT number is valid and all legal conditions are met, your order may be invoiced without VAT (net). VAT is then accounted for in your own country under the reverse charge mechanism, in accordance with European tax regulations.

If your order needs to be delivered to a different location, such as:
- a construction site,
- directly to your customer,
- a hotel,
- an office,
- or any other business location,
click:
Add a New Address
and enter your new delivery address.

After saving the new delivery address, click once again on:
- I am a business (Enter VAT Number)
and enter your EU VAT number again.
Why Do I Need to Enter My VAT Number a Second Time?
This is one of the questions we are asked most often.
The reason is simple:
The delivery country determines the VAT rules that apply to your order.
Whenever you change the delivery address, our system must verify your VAT number again to ensure that the correct tax treatment is applied according to the destination country.
This second verification is therefore necessary to ensure your invoice complies with European VAT regulations.
Good to know: If your billing and delivery addresses are the same, you only need to enter your VAT number once. If you add or change the delivery address, you must enter it again so that VAT can be calculated correctly.

Once your information has been validated, click Continue.
You can then select your preferred shipping method.

Finally, select your preferred payment method and confirm your order.
Your order will then be processed by our team and prepared for shipment as quickly as possible.
