It is a room that requires sufficient lighting in order to prepare, but it is also a room of relaxation with a need for warm light in order to create an atmosphere conducive to well-being.

Often devoid of natural light, it is recommended to install three light sources:
- General lighting to harmoniously illuminate the whole room
- Functional lighting for applying make-up, shaving, combing your hair
- Mood lighting to give character to the bathroom and create an atmosphere conducive to well-being.

However, there is one factor that should not be overlooked in a humid room such as a bathroom. Safety is essential in this space and the lighting you choose should meet certain safety standards.

In the bathroom, there are four areas that involve safety instructions to be observed with different protection indices depending on the proximity of water.

Protection zone 0: This zone covers the inside of the bathtub or shower tray, the luminaires suitable for this location must be IP67 (protection against immersion) or IP68 (totally waterproof).

Protection zone 1: Around the bathtub and the shower, the devices used must be IP 65.

Protection zone 2: This zone corresponds to a location located 60 cm from water points with a risk of splashing, the lights must have a minimum IP value of Ip44 (protection against splashing water).

Protection zone 3: zone 3 requires a location 2.25 m from water points. (Ceiling types or recessed spotlights). The IP20 index is sufficient for this area preferably in low voltage (12Volt).
