Here Comes the Sun – Sculptural Aluminum Suspension Light – DCW Editions Paris
Inspired by sunsets and celestial poetry
Created in 1970 by French architect Bertrand Balas, Here Comes the Sun is more than a lamp – it’s an atmosphere. Re-edited by DCW Editions, this iconic suspension is inspired by the Toulouse sunset. Once lit, it becomes a magical presence that soothes the night with a soft, radiant glow.
A luminous object suspended in space
Shaped like a halved sphere in lacquered aluminum, the lamp seems to float mid-air. The clean silhouette is enhanced by a textile cable and a hidden light source. Whether black, white, or copper inside, it takes on the appearance of a mysterious planet in orbit.
Direct and indirect light in perfect harmony
Its integrated bulb casts a beam downward while simultaneously reflecting light upward against the metallic inner surface. This dual diffusion creates a striking halo effect and a warm ambiance in any room.
A customizable constellation of lamps
Available in five sizes (including the 10cm Mini version added in 2017) and four finishes, Here Comes the Sun can be used alone or in groups. Hanging at different heights, they form a luminous galaxy of moons and stars across your ceiling.
An iconic piece of poetic design
Combining sculpture, functionality, and visual poetry, Here Comes the Sun is a timeless object. It evokes wonder, elegance, and a cosmic calm that enhances interiors with subtle drama.
